Shane Warne

As an Australian I am extremely embarrassed to have Shane Warne represent us as an international commentator. Yes from now and then he gives the audience an amazing insight into the game with his knowledge and experience. But 95% of the time he goes for purposely controversial and clickbaity anecdotes, often trying to create a headline out of nothing. Leading up to this Ashes series he's been head-hunting Mitch Starc obsessively. Questioning his position in the team and his ability to perform at the top level. That all came crashing down this morning as Starc rocketed the ball into Burns' leg stump. That should've been it from warnie but instead he tries to downplay the delivery for the ensuing 10 minutes, first trying to claim the ball didn't swing late, that it was a poor delivery and that it didn't deserve a wicket, with each of these points being met with disagreement from his fellow commentator's.

This man was magical to watch play and I am so glad I got to see him play as it was one of the reasons I fell in love with the game. It's such a shame at who he is now as a has been who tries to stay relevent by making headlines where they aren't any to keep his name in the spotlight. And it sucks as an Aussie that he represents us like that

Pakistan are the first team in Test history to declare their first innings at 300 or less, bowl the opposition out & enforce the follow-on, and win by an innings.

Anyone else loving the new graphics of the Ashes? I think it's a nice and clean looking modern style. Wish more countries do this style of graphics.

Do players actually drink tea in tea time? What do they do?

Upvotes

I figured they drank tea when I was a kid and never really thought that they must be doing a bunch of stuff now.

Sorry if this is an odd question

Athar's commentary during the BanVSPak series.

It had to be the most biased and awful commentary in the history of cricket. When Bangladesh bats, he only talks about the batters, and ignores the bowler and the fielders. When bangladesh bowls, he talks about the bowlers and fielders and completely ignores the batters. There was in this post in this sub where a clip was shown where Mushy got rekt by a bouncer, but Athar praised it as a "wonderful defense". Pakistanis were so pissed of at Athar that one of them told me that "Athar" has become and adjective for bad commentary.
